Mark – will the 185 fit if you trim down one of the wooden spacer blocks that space the tire out from the quarter panel and bulkhead?

I will be replacing the original painted 48 spoke wire wheel and 15 year old 165/15. I'd like to get a larger wheel/tire combo as a spare. I have 72 spoke wheels on 185 Vredresteins that do not fit in the trunk What is the largest tire/wheel combo that will fit in the trunk (boot).
