[Healeys] Splash panel

I'm just getting around to putting the splash panels on the front of my BJ8.I'm having trouble with it interfering with the back of the second running light that the earlier cars don't have.I can only find photos of these in place for the earlier cars, so I wondered if any of you can show me how they are oriented on the later BJ8's.
