after having to fix a tire that went flat today, i started thinking about in the early 50's my dad had a 48 Mercury that had 
Lifeguard tubes in the tire.  it was a tube inside another tube or an extra tube grafted vulcanized onto the smaller tube. 
anyway, it kept you going if the tube was punctured.  not sure if these are still around or if they would work in radial tires, 
but sure would like to have a set.  i have ruined some tires because i had to pull off road and the rim cut the tire and these 
kind of tubes might save the tire.
