Interesting – according to BMIHT, my BN1 (built to U.S. specs) was also delivered to Dusseldorf about Nov/Dec. 1954, so presumably it too was a GI car.

A quick google turned this up. Just outside of Kassel and it is run by a Tomas Lindemann and in the text he says it's been 3 generations of selling automobiles. Definitely contact him and send him that photo.
