[Healeys] Xmas closures in the UK

No Michael, there is no such movement. This is how the holidays work out this
year, in other years it will differ:

We have Bank Holidays - ie public holidays - Xmas and Boxing Day (26th) plus one
on New Year's day*. However when a bank holiday falls at a weekend that day is
carried into the following week. So that this year the Christmas Day BH was
transferred to 26th. Boxing Day BH is then taken on 27th

How the holidays are implemented after Christmas implemented is up to individual
companies, but as a general rule bigger companies (supermarkets, big chains etc)
can give time off in lieu and open on the Bank Holidays - Christmas Day is the
exception, shops aren't open - whereas for smaller companies for all sorts of
reasons it may not be an option.

Many smaller businesses closed on Friday night (23rd) and will stay closed until
28th. They will then will close again on the evening of the 30th and not re-open
until Tuesday 3rd. Some simply don't think it economically viable to re-open
for a couple of days, for example because a lot of staff will take holidays to
ensure a nice long break with their family and friends and the company will be
under-manned.

Because the situation is complex there are no hard and fast rules as to which
days people will open, but the above is a broad indication. I have no idea about
RaceTech specifically.

It's a pain, but...

Regards,

Peter

* Originally Bank Holidays were literally that; days on which the banks were
closed and people couldn't trade and all the world went quiet. "In period" not
even a Healey would venture out - not certain to be able to replenish an empty
tank outside major towns.
