As for the other part i believe Mr. Spidell was referring (humorously) to the "discussion" that took place in the early 1940s. It's what the Brits would cal a bit of dry humor.

There are no disputes between Englishmen and Germans. Its just a discussion. I think I have as many friends in the UK than in Germany and I am working part time for an British company called Austin-Healey Club. So no problem at all.

Its more common to English and Germans that we do not understand the Americans ;-).  I may need to include the French and other Europeans as well. Meanwhile we really fear what?s coming in the future with your new president elect.
