Body #174 had a "Z" shaped bracket between the firewall and the brake supply tank mounting band. Hard to see but just visible in this pre disassembly photo.
and also visible in this one.
The car that I'm currently restoring, body #793, does not have this "Z" bracket and the tank band was secured directly to the firewall. I suspect that the bracket was omitted in a previous restoration.
Anyone with an original car of this era who can confirm this for me.
