The threads on your car are predominantly UNF.

There are BSF, BSW & BA  threads on most of the electrical components but not enough to warrant purchasing the tap & die set.

A reasonable quality UNF set will cover 90% of what you need.

Pleased to be back on this very informative list, after almost a decade, having recently taken the cover off my BN6 and am now planning a refurbishment programme over the winter. I am visiting the U.K. at present and can pick up a tap and die set at a very reasonable price. Is the Healey (excluding the gear shift nob!) predominantly Whitworth or BSF (British Standard Fine) threads?
