If your transmission is out then replace the throttle bushing before you re install the transmission.

OK thanks I was heading in the right direction, I'll put the tranny back in then jack up and finish the bushes.

Thanks

Use 1/4 sockets and enough extensions so you can lay on the floor. Engine trans in place.

That is close but I need something in addition to that. Do you recall if the clutch was in place?

I seem to recall using a 1/4" drive socket to get to the back bolts.

There was a tech article in the May 2006 issue of Austin Healey magazine where Norman Nock described the wear points in the 3000 throttle linkages and briefly discusses removing and replacing them. Specific to my situation is where he describes the replacing of the bushes on the 15" cross-shaft above the bellhousing. Also for added convinience he suggests removing the transmission cover. And then work the right bracket from under the bonnet and from below the car on the left side.

I am attempting to do this since I have my transmission out but for the life of me can't remove the rear bolt on each bracket. I have yet to remove the clutch which would gain me more access and I can't get under my car. I know this can be done but I need a few hints..Please!!
