[Healeys] Smiths Speedometer Question

Good Day Geoff;  Here are a couple of articles that may help in restoring your speedometer.Both are from about 15 years ago so any links may not work.

The problem appears to be the trip odometer rest rod. It will not "push in" far enough to let the mechanism fit down into the case.
