[Healeys] Dry fitting the LS motor

The '59 had the 2.6 liter motor and it lost compression last fall. As I started to overhaul the motor, I was torn between keeping it all original or swap in a lighter and more reliable power plant. My mechanic bought my Healey engine, tranny and radiator for $5000. I bought this V8 and 4 speed for $2900. The LS V8 from chevrolet (Holden in Australia) is a very light and bullet proof motor. Great fuel economy and 330-340 hp. I will keep the fuel injection. My family will drive this occasionally and I wanted it to be easy to start and not worry about it flooding.
Although part of me wanted to keep it stock, I read a few articles that Donald Healey's dream was to originally install a small block V8 in his baby. This was my dream also. Will keep you updated.
