[Healeys] Gauges and Morris

If you are referring to the MGA guru links that describe re calibrating then take note. The MGA uses a Jaeger gauge and sender rated at 68ohms on full tank. The Smiths gauges should be calibrated to 90ohms at full. If the sender is a repro measure the maximum resistance before starting down the route of building a rig.

My repro from Ahead 4 Healeys reads 107ohms at max!

Best.

I saw the link to the testing and have put some 68 Ohm resistors in my bag to try and do that before I send it back. I think we have all had mixed results with most vendors and there are some we would never use again, while others offer high praise.

Recently the Austin Healey Association of Southern California had a tech session at a member’s house and Morris addressed around 20 interested guys for an hour on how he calibrates the speedometers and what the factors are.
