[Healeys] Brake and clutch rod color

I'm in the midst of redoing the 100M and can not find the guidelines for the brake rod and clutch components.  Are they left unpainted or painted a shade of black.  I checked the guidelines and the Anderson/Moment book.
Also the door mechanism has a rubber "bump" on it.  I'm sure there is not a reproduction made, any ideas for a substitute.Thanks and any help would be appreciated.
