[Healeys] BJ8 glove box

It is time to refinish the wood of my glove box door on my BJ8. The finish is
cracked and starting to come off.

I would appreciate the collective wisdom of those on the list who have
stripped and refinished one of these before.

What is the best way to get the old finish off and what is the best finish to
reapply?

The rest of my dash is in good condition so I will likely just pop off the
glove box door and refinish the door so I want to match as best as possible to
the original finish.
