[Healeys] Removing Big Nut on Crankshaft

Bob,  I've used an electric impact gun (1/2" drive) in the past for
that job.  An air operated one should do the job too if you have a
compressor.  I rented the electric one from a tool rental store because
I didn't want to buy one at the time.  Check Harbor Freight.

What's the best way to lock up the engine/drivetrain so I can undo the
big nut
on the end of the crank?

I've tried popping it loose with the starter but the starter doesn't
supply
enough torque.
