I sure hope that society will allow old cars to be driven on public roads by then. With self driving cars and hyper low emissions vehicles being the norm by then, cars such as ours may be only allowed on controlled closed course tracks.

I truly hope I have it wrong.

Ira,
Very nice story. Thank you for sharing.

With our at that time 16 years old daughter I had a similar experience, when
she asked me, if she would inherit my Healey someday. My first question with
a smile was, whether it was very urgent. Then I told her that she had
thought about her mother and her brother too.

Meanwhile she got 20 and has bought her own little car (with some influence
from me). We found a very nice Austin A35 from 1958. Funny thing is that her
A35 and my 100 both came directly after production to Austria, both were
sold by the same dealer and both have been in Austria for their whole life.
Though I can understand that someone bought an A35 in 1958 I have my doubts
about the guy who bought my Healey in 1955, just 5 years after the end of WW
II when most people here had to spend a year's earnings for a motorcycle and
almost a fortune on a Volkswagen Beetle.

Cheers

I was talking to my youngest son (18) yesterday about my progress with
getting the DW throttle cable installed and he stopped my by telling me that
he wanted me to stop "customizing" the car as he wanted to return it to
stock when he gets it in 20-30 years from now. He was concerned that the car
would be be over 80 years old by then he was not sure parts will be
available to make the car right! I assured him that any OEM parts removed
would be saved for him and his brother to sort out after I died. I did not
want to tell him that he would also have to wait for my wife to pass before
they get the car....
So at least my beast will have continued ownership well into the future.
Having a couple more widgets machined tomorrow. So close.... I'll be out of
town this weekend attending a State teachers Union Convention, But I do have
next week off for Spring Break, so it should roar soon. ( he says again ) I
have an April 19th date to get help installing my carpet kit from a fellow
Healey club member. I intend to drive it to his house.
Cheers
