Okay -
I have this coming but I will post anyway with my hat in my hand...
B B I am re-sealing my 100-6 engine. B The front engine plate was actually
bent and the timing chain cover had a bad dent in it so I am replacing both to
stop the leak. B In order to do it, I have to remove the timing chain & gears.
B I was going to do so CAREFULLY as to not disturb the gear placement in the
chain correct and original timing, however the crank sprocket was tough to
remove and when it finally slid off, it did so suddenly and without warning.
B Chain position lost.
I HAVE NOT moved the crank or cam shafts from their
original initial positions and replaced the front plate, both sprockets and
chain to the location I really believe they were originallyb&but donbt know
for certain. B The chain has slack in it and I donbt know if the slack is
enough to actually have moved a link one way or the other. B The engine is out
of the car and when it is back is not the time I want to find out if I am one
link off. B Stupid act I know, but can someone shed some light on this 6
cylinder? B I have rebuilt 4bs before but canbt say I am familiar with the
6 enough to be certain. B Many thanks in advance for (hopefully) saving my
bacon.
