[Healeys] Oil Pressure Guage

Ric,
This probably isn't the answer you'd like, but I think all you can do is have it gone through by a pro (Nisonger, West
Valley, Mo-Ma). Sounds like you have a sticky 'movement,' or something wrong with the bellows and these are just too
delicate to mess with unless you really know what you're doing. Plus, you get the gauge calibrated--I 'gained' 15 psi
of pressure at idle when I had my gauge refurbished by West Valley (Morris, late of 'Mo-'Ma). You'll also get the temp
gauge reworked and calibrated, all for under/around $200.
You can try removing the glass--by simply twisting the bezel off--and see if maybe the indicator needle has worked its
way off its spindle and is contacting the glass. You should be able to GENTLY push it back on if that's the case.
I don't believe 'bleeding' the line from the engine will help--the oil in the line drains back into the engine
anyway--but others may disagree (you say the reading is correct when you tap the glass, so there likely isn't anything
wrong with the oil feed).
