Larry,

I resleeved the bores of my engine and used the 3 5/8 sleeves -no issues. But
I can't tell you if the bigger sleeves will work as well.

Kind regards

Betreff: [Healeys] 100 engine bore for sleeves

Hi Guys, does anyone know the safe maximum bore size for installing sleeves in
a 100 block that won't go through the bore wall into the water jackets? I have
to decided to freshen up the 100 engine, when I stripped it down after it's
factory original 8000 miles there was an amazing ring groove in the top of the
bores, which I have also seen on other 100 engines indicating that the iron is
quite soft, so I want to sleeve the block and improve the bore quality. I'm
looking at 3 3/4 OD sleeves, but could drop back to 3 5/8 if I must. It will
also get 3
7/16 plus 060 semi dished pistons, 100M manifold, 1 3/4 carbs, lightened
flywheel, a moderate camshaft and balancing. The original untouched head will
be left alone.
Cheers
