[Healeys] restore original equipment steering wheel

John:

I have restored about half a dozen steering wheels for Austin-Healeys and
unless they are not reproduced, you are better off to purchase a new one and I
believe that the ones for the BJ8 are. The non-adjustable wheel are getting
harder to find and the early 100, 16 1/2" are not available so you have no
choice there if you want to stay original and it becomes very costly as it is
very much time consuming.

I recently restored a steering wheel for a Porsche 356, far better quality
bakelite to start with but I was told by the owner that horn ring alone is
$900.00 if you can find one that is not cracked, so I was rather careful with
it when I was sanding it.
