[Healeys] brake cylinder problem

Can anyone give me advise on how to prevent the build up of a
whiteish-brownish crud in brake cylinders. Its so bad that a piston has
frozen to the inside of one cylinder leaving no braking on the left
front.  Is there a cause and fix for this crud buildup problem.  Thanks
for any advice.
