[Healeys] Ehaust Gaskets

What often works best is to have the mating surfaces machined absolutely
flat and parallel, and use gaskets made of say 2mm thick copper plate.
These gaskets can be made up by yourself quite easily. Heat these until
cherry red and let cool down, either in air or immersed in water. This
will soften them.
Use copper coated (if available) self locking steel nuts, not the
variety with a nylon ring obviously but the ones that have a split rim
or are squashed a bit. If not available the method with a normal nut
plus thinner locknut is a perfect alternative.
