And the cars manufactured in your country were also LHD, like Volvo and 
Saab.  I have a friend that has imported vintage home market Volvos to 
the USA and they all have been LHD, differing from the originally 
imported cars by having Swedish gauges and lower output engines, i.e. 
one carb instead of two.

I have read that when the change over was made it was done without any 
phase in.  One day you drove on the left, the next on the right.  If you 
think about it, that is a monumental change!
