Peter,

Why DIDN'T you sell it on eBay? The 'auction phenomenon' is well-known.

Flea markets, OTOH, well, they call them 'flea markets' for a reason.

I could give you a number, but no matter what someone tells you its worth, in
the end its worth whatever someone actually pays you for it.

I had a red Shelley LJ225 pot jack with handle, perfect, on my flea market
table, and I rubbed my hands in anticipation. Hundreds of people filed by
during the course of the day, with lots picking it up. I'd heard they could
fetch $ 300 on ebay, but I didn't put a price on it, just talked to people to
get a feel for how serious they were. Only ONE GUY was actually interested in
buying it, and he didn't want to pay anything, of course. He came round and
round all day long and I ended up selling it to him for $ 150 out of
frustration. He probably got a deal.

BTW, the switch to the red jacks, which came in in June 1960 after your 1881,
was Abingdon-wide. So the MGA Mk II got them also at the same time as the
Healey.

Regards
Peter
