I forwarded the listing to BaT and was glad to see they featured it. I got to
know Ken, the owner, from the Factory Five forum which is one of my internet
hangouts. Ken has owned a Factory Five roadster as well as a Shelby GT350
clone. We started talking online when he posted up his new purchase, the
Healey Z. The swap was done about 25 yrs ago and Ken got a deal on it. He
put some sweat equity into it, including that incredibly deep BRG paint. The
car immediately reminded me of the swap that Mark Lambert did that was
featured in Chatter a number of years ago. If it were possible to come to
blows in print, I think Mark and Roger Moment were close. It was funny to see
the BaT comments as they mirrored those old Chatter letters to the editor (how
did we ever communicate without the internet?)

I looked at this yesterday, and thought the concept was pretty cool in that
it
maintained a straight 6 with "imitation" SU's.

Neat idea, just a bit blasphemous.

That said, If I was going to go through the trouble of a swap and the
blasphemy, a Small Block Ford V8. If the straight 6 thing was a big deal, a
BMW 3L would be the way to go.
