Still have the first Austin Healey that started this obsession 47 years ago, a
1955 BN2. In 1965 my Dad squashed my dreams of owning a 1938 Chevy business
coupe with a big Olds engine and hydro trans with these words: "I don't think
this is the car for you... son!!" Being just 15 and still in need of the
critical piece of acceptance into the real world, my drivers license, Dad
opted to " Look for something more reasonable." The local Buick dealer across
the street from Dad's barber shop took in a trade on a new Buick and we went
to look at the "Its a little car, not sure want it is." The BN2 was sitting
somewhat forlorn in the dimly lit dealers basement. I paid $275 and Dad drove
it home. The rest is a long history of approximately 20 big Healeys and as
many Spridgets, a few Morris Minors and some other oddballs. Let not talk
about the non LBC's. Did I mention obsession.
Currently have the BN2, a 1965 BJ8 with chassis/body panel rust repair work
completed sitting in the corner of the garage. My brother-in-laws 1957 BN4 is
just starting a restoration with the chassis back from the blasters. A 1966
Jag MK2 in primer and the latest non LBC, a 1952 Chevy pickup. Oh yeah we
were not talking about them.
Aloha

PS Forgot the wifes Cube. What a hoot!
