Fit the mirrors for safety sake for function ! That will be on the 
doors, nearest to your eyes to have the largest view area behind and 
next to you.
OK, in the past and originally they were often fitted on the front wings 
, but in modern traffic that location is pretty useless as the area of 
view is very limited.
Use a flat or concave mirror on the drivers side and a concave on the 
passenger side.
