Before you go ripping the gearbox back out try this.
With the car on stands and in gear remove the slave cylinder. Find a tool
that will extend the clutch arm on the transmission at least 2 feet then use
that lever to move the arm to the limit of its travel.
With the arm in that position see if you can turn the driveshaft.
If you can the disc is not in backwards and the problem is with the
operating system not the clutch itself.
