[Healeys] width of rearaxle -BN1

Hi all,
After many years of idle I'm trying to do some work on my project 100. I 
did some measurement on the rear spring anchoring points.  The width 
across the frame doesn't  match the width across the rearaxle, also the 
differential doesn't seem to be centred on the rear axle. What is the 
correct width? Shall the differential be slightly off-centre? This is a BN1.
