Hypoy EP90 is NOT the same thing as "hypoid".

Engine oil & gear oil are viscosity rated at
different temperatures.
SAE90 gear oil is about the same viscosity as SAE
40-50 engine oil. Not 
nearly as much heavier as the numbers would suggest.
