[Healeys] rear engine plate question

With the rear plate off, it looks as though the only part that needs a
gasket or sealing is the area around the rear of the camshaft.

Does anyone know if the area is subject to high oil pressure or is it just
runoff from the end of the camshaft?

I wonder if anyone's used spray gasket material, such as Permatex Copper
spray to seal that area with success.

Thoughts?
