[Healeys] BJ8 transmission

I just disassembled two BJ8 mainshaft assemblies. In both cases, 2nd gear & 
third gear each contained 33 needle bearings. The parts book indicates 2nd gear 
should have 33 needle bearings (P/N AEC3180) & 3rd gear should have 32 needle 
bearings (P/N AEC3180). The bearing surface on the main shaft is the same 
diameter at both gear locations, so it appears evident that the parts book is in 
error. Has this been discussed before?
