I'm not saying it's a good idea or a bad idea, but just be aware that 
the water in the head (and block) is at a higher pressure than the water 
in the radiator.  If you have, say, a 12 psi cap on the header tank and 
it's plumbed to the head it may overflow.

We discovered that on Jack's car when he put a radiator cap on top of 
the thermostat housing so he could fill from the high point.  We ended 
up blocking off the overflow there and just using the one on the 
radiator itself for that purpose.  The radiator cap on the t-stat 
housing made filling the car with water a breeze after that.
