[Fot] TR6 Porterfield R-4 Rear Brake Shoes - Carbotech relining

I spoke with Carbotech this afternoon after John and Ken’s email.  Carbotech will reline brake shoes and are familiar with vintage racing and autocross requirements.

 

Send the cores, along with brake drum specs (inside diameter so they can arc it correctly) and  your contact information (phone, email and address) to the Carbotech address below (not their Cleveland location).   They will give you a call back regarding the compound to use/recommended, based on type of racing (or street), vehicle drum size etc.

Thanks and will give Carbotech a call – was not aware they would reline brake shoes since it is not mentioned on their site.

 

Do you use the XP8 or XP10 compound?

They are also in Charlotte, 877 899 5024 I think the shoes are made somewhere in Ohio but they can tell you

Porterfield is continuing to have production problems (since January) with the TR6 234 R-4 brake shoes due to curing issues and are trying a new resin.  In the meantime, is there another compatible product/brand for racing?

 

I like to have a back up set.
