Another interesting fact is that it was built at no charge by the contractor who was working on the adjacent highway in exchange for the owner allowing the contractor to store his equipment on the site.  It is named after a son of the engineer who built the Brooklyn Bridge who was a racing buff.  The eventual owner was also into racing and basically gave the track to the SCCA region.  I can remember back in the 70’s having to stop racing my bike while the owner landed his twin engine plane on the front straight.

RR is a great track, everything is low-key, good race atmosphere, about as basic as it gets.
The course appears to be very simple & straightforward but in reality is very challenging & hard to put together, which isn't surprising since it was originally used for not just road racing but also as a driver-training course...

Yep, if you are looking for the club atmosphere Roebling Road Savannah could be the ticket.  Just 20 min. off I 95, endless level unpaved Bermuda grass paddock space with trees to shade, great camping, good motels/restaurants  within 20 min (be sure and visit Lovazellas pizza), nice restrooms/showers, power at many spots, newly paved track, good concessions, VDCA (if Mike is willing to take it on) with true vintage classes, good track time. Similar to Blackhawk in many ways, any time but June, July, August (it is the south and it's VERY HOT in the summer) Look it up on the web.

Ronnie - Yes! Roebling Road is owned by the Buccaneer Region of the SCCA and was just repaved earlier this year.

Mike Jackson - Grand Potentate of VDCA & FOT member has multiple scheduled weekends at RR annually and can recommend what it would take to have a Kcup at this club track!
