[Fot] Kastner Cup Tire Regulations

As I understand things, the Kastner Cup has not had many restrictions other than being a "Triumph powered race car".  Joe Alexander mentioned the rules are more common sense than strict regulations.  But please see the attached VRG rules on tires.  The options simply don't fit some cars, so a compromise was reached to allow cars to run that otherwise would not attend.  So hopefully this will increase the car count. 

With treaded grooved slicks a car is eligible for KCup awards.  But the car is not eligible for any other PGVP/VRG awards such as a podium position.  So basically cars with grooved slicks are running practice laps other than the two KCup races.  That's a pretty significant impact on someone's weekend.  If someone has an option to run the tires below, they will.  But if it requires purchasing new wheels and totally changing the set up of the car for one race, they likely wouldn't do it.

Below are excerpts from the VRG tire regulations.

Some examples of acceptable tires:
* Avon ACB10
* Goodyear Blue Streak
* Hoosier Street TD & Speedster
* Toyo RA1, R888- R888R, R1R
NON-DOT Racing Tires: The non-DOT treaded racing tires listed below are approved for VRG competition:
• Avon: ACB9, CR6ZZ, A29, H-003 and H-009
• Goodyear: BlueStreaks, Vintage Sports Car Specials, G12 and G12A
• Hoosier: Vintage TD, Street TD, Speedster, TDR, TDS, R35B, and VFF
• Dunlop: L-series, M-series, CR65, and CR82
