I will share some of the mastications I have been going thru as I continue on the resto-modding of my 55 TR2 with 3B block, 4A head and manifolds, 89 mm bore, etc
stock head was shaved initially by having 0.020 removed to eliminate some prior scars (3.330 - 0.020 = 3.310”). Chamber had some minor work to smooth out sharp
edges, and relieve some of the shrouding resulting in a chamber area of 61.75 average cc’s for a static CR using a 0.032 copper gasket of 9.43 +/-

Had an add’l 0.020 shaved to eliminate some careless scars from some add’l chamber work resulting in an average chamber cc of 62.38 and still using the 0.032 copper
gasket (Mordy D) yielding a CR of 9.35+/-

Did some more shrouding work and sent head out for some manifold port matching and roller rocker alignment work as well as an add’l 0.010 head milling (so 0.050
total material removed from the stock head for an new height of 3.280”), with a better smoothness ratio for use with Mordy’s 0.022 copper gasket. Also to have the
shop cc the combustion chambers after the work is completed. Aiming for a final CR of around 9.75+/-

Motor has 270 duration cam, Moodys 5 dummy main billet crank, Corrello rods, BFE 89 mm piston and liner set, IJ teflon crank scraper and baffles, uprated oil pump with Dodge
Ram pickup from IJ, SS valves with oversize intake and hardened exhaust seats. HS roller rockers on hardened shaft and alloy pedestals. Crain electronic ignition, Fidanza alloy
flywheel, diaphragm clutch, ATI super damper, alloy front motor plate, alloy rocker cover and sump, alloy radiator and soft start electronic fan with thin belt conversion to uprated
water pump and alternator. HS6 carbs on 4A intake and exhaust. Gear reduction starter. Toyota 5 speed, Quaife diff with 4.11 gears and alloy drive shaft, 4 wheel disk brakes, 4
wheel tube shocks, uprated front spindles and alloy hubs, RATCO frame modified to take full TR6 front suspension including front sway bar. Oil cooler with thermostat and spin
on filter. Hope to be on the road soon!
