[Fot] TR3 rear axle inspection - road car

 The factory did that to "stake" the woodruff key.
It's normal and it's also where cracks start when you beat on the axles.
It should be okay for a street car, but you should crack test while its apart.

1). How does this happen?  It doesn’t look like a crack more like punch or chisel marks at the end of the key. 

2). Is this problematic as a stress riser for a street car?  If so, can I just grind and smooth these marks out and be good?
