Time to rock and roll folks.
PADDOCK AND LOAD IN: We will be allowed to start entering the track/paddock starting at around noon on Wednesday, that probably means 11:00. I intend to sneak in early and mark off the Triumph grass paddock with caution tape, Wish me luck. 🙂. See the attached pdf for its location. We will have some sort of area in the blacktop paddock somewhere in the area where I have placed question marks. SVRA has not provided me with how much they are going to give me yet. I suspect I will find out Wednesday morning when I arrive at the track. If you have a rig that requires blacktop you should try to arrive early on Wednesday. If I can claim the entire grass area as marked, we should all be able to fit there. I will park my truck and trailer at the top of the hill as shown and hope to hang a big “KASTNER CUP PADDOCK” sign of some sort on the front of the trailer. Look for the white 48’ toy hauler with white F-350 dually. All spots first come first serve.
DRIVERS PACKAGE AND SHIRT DISTRIBUTION: I intend to have a canopy set up near the entrance of the Triumph paddock. A driver's package will be distributed to all Triumph entrants there Thursday between 4:00 and 6:00. Remember to bring a picture of your car or something to place in the 3” x 4” pouch of the lanyard you and your crew will receive (a previous SVRA Hero Card will fit perfect). Ted Schumacher will also have his van set up there and be distributing the t-shirts that were pre-ordered at that time also. Please make it a point to get there and pick up your stuff during that time!
KASTNER CUP RACE AND AWARDS: The current schedule has the Kastner Cup feature taking place at 2:35 Sunday. The track then going cold at 3:00. The presentation of the Peggy Kastner class award and the Kastner cup will take place where the driver's packages were distributed at 3:00 (or when racing actually stops so we can hear). That should give us enough time park, get out of our gear, and figure out the respective winners.
LOCAL ROADS: If you venture out onto the side roads in the area mostly north and east of the track be aware that there are Amish communities in the area and you could very possibly come upon a horse and buggy sharing the road with you so be alert.
COVID-19 FORMS: You (and each person with you) WILL have to fill one of these out before you can enter the track. Go to the SVRA Mid-Ohio event website and print them out and fill it out BEFOR you get to the track. Evelyn and I did a recon run to the track two days ago and had to provide them before we entered. We handed it to security, he stuck it in a pile and never looked at it.
ME: Marty Sukey, wife is Evelyn. My car is a white Spitfire #8. I have a green golf cart with a #8 on it also. Cell #440-225-0209, email trmarty at hotmail.com<mailto:trmarty at hotmail.com>.
SOCIAL DISTANCES, MASK, COVID-19 ETC. !!! This is my personal request. SVRA is requiring mask be worn when in the area of any of their staff and no physical contact. There are folks coming from all over the country to race and most of them are no longer spring chickens. Please be safe and wear a mask around each other. That was my request, now my personal statement. Both my wife and I have health issues. This event has been a real struggle. If you are coming up to our trailer or us in general you had better have your mask on, we will have ours on for your safety!
I’m sure there is something I have missed but this is a good start.
Marty Sukey
