The sleeve locks down when the nut is tightened, the nylon bushes pressed in the A-arms; the relative movement is between the steel OD & ID of the bush.Clearance between the ID of the steel & the pivot pin isn't part of the equation.
Or I may be misunderstanding the concern...HTH

Subject: [Fot] TR3 front end rebuild questions

It’s been awhile since I’ve done this so I have a question about the proper fit of the steel bushing and the fixed cross pin in the lower inner support for the TR3 front suspension. There is about 0.004” clearance between The new steel bushings I have and the suspension cross pin welded to the frame. Once you install a control arm, you can feel this clearance as slop with that one arm installed. I’m assuming the majority of this slop will disappear once I install the remainder of the suspension pieces and bolt them all together. But wanted to ask, does that clearance sound right?  Seems excessive to me.

Are there options to ditch the metal sleeve and nylon insert to get rid of that slop on a TR3?

Thanks.

Greg
