[Fot] GoPro Questions

For my recent birthday my awesome wife bought me a new GroPro Hero 8 Black.
Do any FOT members have any suggestions for settings for track use? 

Also, this camera replaces my Hero 4 which I am thinking of facing rewards
while the 8 is facing forwards- can anybody guide me with how to semi record
then play back

Via a split screen?
