[Fot] Cold Fuel

Actually what Smokey did was Drilled holes in the frame rails so tech knew he wasn't putting fuel there but they didn't look at what was inside the frame rail. He put 2 inch radiator hose in there for a fuel line. The rule was for fuel cell capacity but no rule for the fuel line size.

When I ran SCCA nationals at Road America in the 70's I had a 6 gallon cell, the races were 15 laps plus parade lap and cool off lap (68 total miles). I was getting 10 miles/gallon and never ran out of fuel. How you ask... Saturday night we drained the cell, drank all the beer and put the gas cans in the cooler. Fueled the car and pushed it to grid Sunday morning. Before we would get to the grid the fuel cell was pissing out the overflow from the fuel expanding in less than 5 minutes.

I need to make 7.2 gallons of fuel go 75 minutes at Road America this weekend, where I typically burn a bit more than 1 gallon every 10 minutes. I could soft-pedal it to save some fuel, but there is some quick competition out there.
