There is some confusion about DOT 5 ; DOT 5 and DOT 5.1 are not the same : I believe DOT 5 is the silicone brakefluid : not suitable for racing, not because of the boiling point, but it is very difficult to expell all the air out of the brake lines : it takes a lot of time, it can't be done in one go and that is a problem of course when one needs to bleed the brakes during a race week-end.
