[Fot] Spark plugs

I think your issues are centered around the Weber's.  Years ago I ran DCOE's on my TR4A which had a hotter cam and headers.  I never could get them to run lean enough on the street around town.  Ran great on the highway however since the 4:11 rear end kept the engine at high RPM.  If you know someone who is an EXPERT with Weber's I would have them take a look.  With the thousands of combinations of different jets, venturi's etc. on DCOE's it really takes some time and knowledge to get them streetable.

I am running one step colder in my 10.5:1 streetable GT6, BP7ES.  No issues with fouling, my guess is your issues aren't related to plug heat range.

Thanks for the info. Good website.  I was hoping someone would say I'm in the ballpark as far as heat range. I'll look into fuel issues.                                 P.J.

My experience is that the NGKs are the best plugs available for “our” cars. I run them in my personal cars, and motorcycle, Jeff’s TR3 race car. and any car in his collection that NGK makes plugs for, etc...

If you are fouling plugs, it’s not the plugs that are causing it.

I have found this page to be pretty informative and useful for someone at my basic level of understanding: http://www.ngksparkplugs.ca/tech-info-spark-plugs.cfm

Good advice there: “Before changing fouled spark plugs, be sure to eliminate root cause of fouling”.  Why are you fouling the plugs?

Hi All.

Am looking for a plug to replace NGK BP6ES. I have had to replace these every year because of fouling problems and am tired of it. Engine is a 2.5 L TR6.  10:1 compression, mild cam, Weber carbs, streetable.

 Thanks.  P.J.
