[Fot] Sealing Block Wedges

i’ve used the black neoprene with no issues - they did require some trimming.  Lots of permatex ultrablack.

These neoprene pieces suck for lack of a better term.  Years ago a local British shop commented that he didn't use the wood wedges, he used RTV in place of them.  Has anybody here used RTV or "The Right Stuff" to fill in the voids in place of the wood wedges with success, or failure for that matter?
