[Fot] Planning for Triumphs and Personnel with Sebring History

For those who have never been and are planning on coming...
Definitely get there early. Vintage is a "filler" support group, schedule usually sucks and track time is limited.
Most rooms in town are likely booked already, now is the time to start looking.

RV/tent & stay at the track works but if it rains it can be a mess.
Facilities aren't as bad as they used to be, they're OK, also some halfway-decent over-priced track food.
They do a decent job of keeping things halfway sane in the paddock area but once one ventures into the "green-park", it's no-mans land...
The Sebring 12-Hour is a zoo, but it is THE Sebring 12-Hour!
Looking forward to it!
Glen

Lodging is an issue and should be pursued early on.

Jim,

Plans are being made to be at Amelia Island and Sebring 12 Hour in March 2017.

The plan so far is to have the:

57 Sebring TR3 from the UK
63 Sebring TR4 from the UK
TR250K that ran in the late 60s
Bob Kramer's Sebring TR4

Russ Pierce plans to bring the Macau.

HSR is the sanctioning body and will have the schedule and entry information.

Lodging is an issue and should be pursued early on.

(I plan to stay at the track)

There are no designated project people leading the charge on this. Hopefully, the FOT attending will share information and provide support to each other.

It is quite possible that the original drivers will attend along with Kas and Peg. I am hoping that the current car owners will extend those invitations to Bob Tullius, Ed Diehl, and Bob Johns.

I AM looking for a means to get Kas & Peg there and to secure lodging. Any ideas are welcome.

Potentially, this could be one of the most significant Triumph Vintage Reunions of current times. Tim Suddard called. I know he is interested in covering it. Burt Levy is also interested.

And then there is the Kastner Cup in June. The U.K. Triumphs will be shipped there to Black Hawk Farms to run the Kastner Cup. How cool is that?

Anyway, I hope the Amelia and Sebring events gain great traction. I suspect that it will. There is no doubt that the 15th Running of the Kastner Cup will be huge. (Hosted by Brian Garcia and Jason Ostrowski.)

Joe,
Can you give me some details on the Triumph Reunion Sebring you mentioned in this email thread?
I would bring the 72 Group 44 GT6 and the Kastner GT6.
I just need to work on the 2017 schedule a make sure I keep the weekend available.
What dates are you thinking about this Reunion?
Thanks

Jim

Russell

Hopefully, we will have a gathering of all manner of Triumphs. The Macau Tribute would be very special.

Tim Suddard called last week, still expressing an interest in the 12 Hours of Sebring event March 2017.

I have been to this event three times. Once to drive it. Truly a bucket list item, if you have never been there.

Hi Joe, I don’t consider my car to be in the league with these but I certainly plan on being there and bringing the Macau tribute car just for fun if nothing else. Sebring has its first ever historical race sponsored by HSR this Dec and I plan on heading down for that event as well. Are you still working with Tim Studdard for your event at Sebring?
