Most of those kinds of projects wind up gathering dust. It’s a rare car that actually winds up being better for the surgery. I put a Toyota 2TG motor and transmission into a TR3 long ago. It was a more driveable car, but every time I opened th hood it just looked lame. That was a pretty conservative choice—not overpowered, more reliable, about the same weight, better carbs, etc. and a 5 speed transmission—but it wasn’t a real improvement, and conversions have little value. The jags with V8’s in them are probably getting switched back. Valuable with a stock motor, not valuable with a V8.
