Mile High charges 175.00 for nitriding, polishing & straightening but I've found out you HAVE to check your clearances when it comes back.

The nitriding cost (via Dennis Murray of Performance Engine Service in Austin, TX) turned out to be $400 (plus $72 shipping), much less than I expected.  Dennis said that was his cost, so perhaps going direct to Mile High Crankshafts in Denver might cost a bit more.  Compared to the cost of a forged crank that seems like a helluva deal for the Ford 1500 pre-crossflow race motor I’m building for the Morgan.

Dennis sent my Ford 1500 crank to a guy in Colorado for nitriding.  He said it would be about $800, including final straightening and grinding to spec (Monday I’ll pick it up and find out what the final cost is).
