[Fot] Christian Marx to be featured in Burt Levy's next VMS Column

"Hot shoe" is also an old motorcycle racing  term for a dirt tracker's steel
plate (with miniature roll-up on its nose) that is strapped to the sole of
the left boot. Particularly fast dirt trackers were called Hot Shoes.  I
still have one of my old hot shoes, but I never quite earned the distinctive
title that goes with conspicuous success in its usage.

"Spurs".......is the cowboy term.

"Hot Shoe", in the US is usually more complimentary of driver than not.

You certainly deserve it. First time on the track, first time in the car,
and high HP. This makes you a quick study and a hot shoe.
