Interesting that the Jag needle is the preferred choice.  When I was running 
carbs on my TR6 I made my own needles using the specs for a Jag 3.8 motor, 
my thinking was that I wanted my 6 to run like a Jag.
Reshaping a needle is fairly easy, chuck up the needle in a drill and use 
some emery cloth to shape it as you rotate it.  I created a gauge with marks 
on it every 1/8" to measure the diameter as I went.  very easy to do and 
worked very well, nice to have a couple of extra needles to experiment with.
